Cacophonies to Rhythms is a drawing of downtown Seattle from the air, as a representation of all our walks and movements around this place. A new home has this sense of movement to it, only intensified as one figures out how things work and where things are. One enters a place and participates in it, whether going to work or to pick up groceries or to meet a friend. There is an orientation period – “How do I get to that place? What time do I have to leave to get to work on time? Which hallway or elevator do I take to find my door?” Eventually, these orientations become habits, and one’s everyday life becomes less cacophonies, and more rhythms. It becomes home, in which you belong and share with others.
